There are so many advantages to using solar energy that it is easy to understand its growing popularity. A high cost is usually associated with installing solar panels, and while it can be quite an investment, the long term payouts make it more than worthwhile. There are many government programs in place, such as Ontario's MicroFIT program, that make the cost lower and the return on investment quicker. Additionally, when we look at the recent oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico, we can see that there is an enormously high cost to continued use of fossil fuels as well - both economically and enviornmentally.
