What did you do in observance of Earth Day 2011?

I didn’t do anything different. I thought it was in April. I do not use a/c. I have ceiling fans and water cooler. I use only cold water. I’m used to it. I do separate aluminum cans and plastic and place in bags outside. Its for anyone who needs a few extra pesos. I walk a lot. What do you do? In case you didn’t know. Earth Day is when you do something that helps or protects the environment.
Kabarkad? In the Philippines? Where, Baguio City? Lucky you.

Nothing. It’s all a bunch of crap. If you really want to help the environment you will avoid buying anything new so as not to contribute to industrial production. That includes useless hybrid cars.

I am not urinating everywhere, especially when my wife are with me.

    What a shame.

Went up the roof of our three-storey building. Would have made the mistake again of referring to it as a 4-storey, but the top floor has only the abandoned security monitoring room. It is my private place to meditate.

Then, I looked out over the sprawling city where I worked and lived at the tall and majestic buildings.

I am in the midst of a society built upon black gold, the bane of environmentalists. And I kept looking out for something that is not there, yet. The sands. I tried, but hard as I could, I could not recall the exact lines about this Persian king, Ozymandias. How he challenged the world to witness his greatness, and the magnificence he has erected, the words inscribed on his monument that has broken down, and looked upon only by the sands that has overwhelmed his entire civilization.

And then again, I could have gone up there simply to look out if any tsunami waves were coming….

Practically the same as you except I do not use ceiling fans and water cooler because I am located in an environment with an average temperature of 15 – 21 degrees Celsius.
