What would be a good area of study for sustainability?

So I think I want to get into the sustainability movement developing alternative energy sources and such. However, there isn’t a specific major for that. What would be a good area of study if I want to get into that?

  1. Beef Pork says:

Engineering. You can’t major in a buzzword. “Sustainability” is just a buzzword.

You will probably want to major in something related to the hard sciences (ecology, environmental science, biology) or engineering (bioplastics engineering, environmental engineering, general engineering) and look for schools that have focuses or concentrations in sustainability areas. Further, you can probably find specific classes that are related to such issues, join clubs/organizations, and take on internships to further tailor your education and experience to match your interests.
