Initially you will make more money from petroleum. There is already a market set up for it and companies have been making billions of dollars a year from this commodity. However, as a long term investment, green energy will make you the most money. Oil is a finite resource, and once we hit peak oil (if we haven’t already), it will become more and more expensive to drill for oil, and it will eat into profits, and eventually oil will become too expensive to be used as a practical fuel source. Green energy is as infinite as the sun, and the weather, and the technology will only improve as we invest more money into it. If you invested in green energy now your return would be lower than oil, but it would pay off in the years to come.
