i have a single pane picture window 93.75″x64″. If I replace it with an energy star window (u30) is it worth it in energy savings? How many gallons of oil could I expect to save per month.

You would have to have an Energy Star rep come to your house and run the numbers for you to figure out the actual savings based on your square footage, the other windows in the room etc.
However, we’ve been replacing a bunch of our old single pane windows throughout our house with Energy Star windows and discovered that the rooms are definitely warmer, quieter, and much less drafty. You’ll no doubt recover your investment within 2-3 years plus should be eligible for a 30% tax credit too.
